The End of Prophethood
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) passed away (often referred to as martyrdom due to earlier poisoning) on the 28th of Safar, 11 AH, at the age of 63. His passing was the greatest calamity to strike the Islamic Ummah. In his final days, he reiterated the importance of following the Quran and his Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
The Usurpation of Rights
While Imam Ali (a.s.) and the close family were engaged in the funeral rites of the Prophet, a group of companions gathered at Saqifah to usurp the caliphate, ignoring the Prophet's explicit appointment of Imam Ali (a.s.) at Ghadeer Khumm. Aamal for 28th Safar
The 28th of Safar is a day of profound grief. It is recommended to mourn the loss of the Prophet, recite his Ziyarat (such as Ziyarat Ameenullah), and reflect on the sufferings that befell his beloved daughter, Lady Fatima (s.a.), and Imam Ali (a.s.) immediately after his passing.
নবুওয়াতের সমাপ্তি
১১ হিজরির ২৮ সফর পবিত্র নবী (সা.) ৬৩ বছর বয়সে ইন্তেকাল করেন (আগে বিষপ্রয়োগের কারণে প্রায়শই শাহাদত হিসেবে উল্লেখ করা হয়)। তাঁর মৃত্যু ছিল ইসলামী উম্মাহর ওপর নেমে আসা সবচেয়ে বড় বিপর্যয়। তাঁর শেষ দিনগুলোতে তিনি কুরআন এবং আহলে বাইত (আ.)-কে অনুসরণ করার গুরুত্ব পুনর্ব্যক্ত করেছিলেন।
অধিকার হরণ
যখন ইমাম আলী (আ.) এবং নিকটাত্মীয়রা নবীর জানাজার কাজে ব্যস্ত ছিলেন, তখন একদল সাহাবী গাদীর খুম্মে ইমাম আলীর (আ.) স্পষ্ট নিয়োগকে উপেক্ষা করে খিলাফত দখল করার জন্য সাকিফায় সমবেত হয়। এটি আহলে বাইতের (আ.) ওপর নিপীড়নের সূচনা করে। (সূত্র: কিতাবুল ইরশাদ)
২৮ সফরের আমল
২৮ সফর গভীর শোকের দিন। নবীর মৃত্যুতে শোক প্রকাশ করা, তাঁর জিয়ারত (যেমন জিয়ারতে আমিনুল্লাহ) পাঠ করা এবং তাঁর ইন্তেকালের পরপরই তাঁর প্রিয় কন্যা বিবি ফাতিমা (সা.) এবং ইমাম আলী (আ.)-এর ওপর নেমে আসা কষ্টের কথা স্মরণ করার সুপারিশ করা হয়।
