The Adornment of Worshippers
Imam Ali ibn Hussain (a.s.) was born on the 5th of Sha'ban 38 AH in Medina. His mother was Shahrbanu, a Persian princess. Due to his immense devotion and lengthy prostrations, he was titled 'Zain al-Abidin' and 'Sajjad'.
His Life and Contribution
Imam Sajjad (a.s.) survived the tragedy of Karbala due to severe illness. After Karbala, he faced the immense task of preserving the message of his father and guiding the Shia community under the oppressive Umayyad regime. He used supplications as a profound medium of teaching theology and spirituality, compiled in the famous book Sahifa Sajjadiyya, known as the Psalms of the Ahl al-Bayt.

As part of the joyous Sha'baniyah celebrations, it is recommended to fast, give charity, and recite the beautiful supplications from Sahifa Sajjadiyya to connect with Allah in the manner taught by the Imam.

৩৮ হিজরির ৫ শাবান মদিনায় ইমাম আলী ইবনে হুসাইন (আ.) জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তাঁর মাতা ছিলেন পারস্যের রাজকন্যা শাহরবানু। তাঁর অপরিসীম ভক্তি এবং দীর্ঘ সেজদার কারণে তাঁকে 'জয়নুল আবেদিন' এবং 'সাজ্জাদ' উপাধি দেওয়া হয়েছিল।
তাঁর জীবন ও অবদান
মারাত্মক অসুস্থতার কারণে ইমাম সাজ্জাদ (আ.) কারবালার ট্র্যাজেডি থেকে বেঁচে গিয়েছিলেন। কারবালার পর, অত্যাচারী উমাইয়া শাসনের অধীনে তাঁর পিতার বাণী সংরক্ষণ করা এবং শিয়া সম্প্রদায়কে পথ দেখানোর বিশাল দায়িত্ব তিনি গ্রহণ করেন। তিনি ধর্মতত্ত্ব এবং আধ্যাত্মিকতা শেখানোর এক গভীর মাধ্যম হিসেবে দোয়া ব্যবহার করেছিলেন, যা বিখ্যাত বই সহিফা সাজ্জাদিয়া-তে সংকলিত হয়েছে, যাকে আহলে বাইতের গীতসংহিতা বলা হয়।
৫ শাবানের আমল
শাবান মাসের আনন্দের অংশ হিসেবে, রোজা রাখা, দান করা এবং ইমামের শেখানো পদ্ধতিতে আল্লাহর সাথে সম্পর্ক স্থাপনের জন্য সহিফা সাজ্জাদিয়া থেকে সুন্দর দোয়াগুলো পাঠ করার সুপারিশ করা হয়।
