A Match Made in Heaven
On the 1st of Dhul Hijjah 2 AH, the marriage of Imam Ali (a.s.) and Lady Fatima al-Zahra (s.a.) took place in Medina. When prominent, wealthy companions asked for Fatima's hand, the Prophet (PBUH) declined, stating that her marriage was a divine decree. A Model of Simplicity
Their marriage was the epitome of simplicity and spiritual richness. Imam Ali (a.s.) sold his armor to pay the meager dowry (Mahr). Their household possessed minimal worldly goods but was filled with unmatched love, piety, and the light of the Ahl al-Bayt. From this union came the infallible Imams who would guide humanity.

স্বর্গে নির্ধারিত মিলন
২ হিজরির ১ জিলহজ, মদিনায় ইমাম আলী (আ.) এবং বিবি ফাতিমা আল-যাহরা (সা.)-এর বিবাহ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। যখন বিশিষ্ট ও ধনী সাহাবীরা ফাতিমার হাত চেয়েছিলেন, তখন নবী (সা.) তা প্রত্যাখ্যান করে বলেছিলেন যে তাঁর বিবাহ একটি ঐশী আদেশ। যখন আলী (আ.) তাঁর কাছে প্রস্তাব নিয়ে আসেন, তখন নবী আনন্দে তা গ্রহণ করেন, কারণ ফেরেশতা জিব্রাইল আগেই আলোর সাথে আলোর মিলনের আল্লাহর নির্দেশ নিয়ে এসেছিলেন। (সূত্র: বিহারুল আনোয়ার)
সরলতার আদর্শ
তাঁদের বিবাহ ছিল সরলতা ও আধ্যাত্মিক সমৃদ্ধির প্রতীক। ইমাম আলী (আ.) সামান্য মোহরানা (মহর) প্রদানের জন্য তাঁর বর্ম বিক্রি করে দেন। তাঁদের সংসারে জাগতিক সম্পদ সামান্যই ছিল, কিন্তু তা অতুলনীয় ভালোবাসা, তাকওয়া এবং আহলে বাইতের আলোয় পরিপূর্ণ ছিল। এই মিলন থেকেই নিষ্পাপ ইমামদের আবির্ভাব ঘটে যারা মানবজাতিকে পথ দেখাবেন।
গুরুত্ব
এই দিনটি ইসলামের ইতিহাসে সবচেয়ে পবিত্র বিবাহের বার্ষিকী হিসেবে উদযাপিত হয়। এটি মুসলমানদের জন্য বৈষয়িক সম্পদের চেয়ে বিবাহে তাকওয়া, বিশ্বাস এবং সরলতাকে অগ্রাধিকার দেওয়ার অনুপ্রেরণা হিসেবে কাজ করে।
