The Tragic Dawn
On the 19th of Ramadan 40 AH, a devastating tragedy befell the Islamic world. While Amir al-Mu'minin Imam Ali (a.s.) was in the state of prostration (Sajdah) during the Fajr prayer in the Great Mosque of Kufa, the Kharijite Abd al-Rahman ibn Muljam (may Allah curse him) struck him on the head with a sword soaked in deadly poison. The Triumph of the Imam
Upon receiving the fatal blow, Imam Ali (a.s.) immediately cried out, 'Fuztu wa Rabbil Kaaba' (By the Lord of the Kaaba, I have succeeded!). His unparalleled faith and longing for meeting his Lord were manifested in this powerful statement. He was carried back to his house, leaving the Muslim Ummah in profound grief.
Aamal for the 19th of Ramadan
This is the first of the probable Nights of Power (Laylat al-Qadr). Believers stay awake the entire night performing the Aamal of Qadr, reciting the Quran, and offering special prayers. Reciting the Ziyarat of Imam Ali (a.s.), cursing his assassins, and mourning this colossal tragedy are essential acts on this night.
মর্মান্তিক ভোর
৪০ হিজরির ১৯ রমযান, ইসলামী বিশ্বে এক ভয়াবহ ট্র্যাজেডি নেমে আসে। আমিরুল মুমিনিন ইমাম আলি (আ.) যখন কুফার বড় মসজিদে ফজরের নামাজে সিজদারত ছিলেন, তখন খারিজি আবদ আল-রহমান ইবনে মুলজম (তার ওপর আল্লাহর লানত) একটি মারাত্মক বিষাক্ত তলোয়ার দিয়ে তাঁর মাথায় আঘাত করে। (সূত্র: তারিখে ইয়াকুবি)
ইমামের বিজয়
মারাত্মক আঘাত পাওয়ার সাথে সাথেই ইমাম আলি (আ.) চিৎকার করে ওঠেন, 'ফুজতু ওয়া রাব্বিল কাবা' (কাবার প্রভুর কসম, আমি সফল হয়েছি!)। তাঁর অতুলনীয় বিশ্বাস এবং প্রভুর সাথে মিলিত হওয়ার আকুলতা এই জোরালো বিবৃতিতে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল। তাঁকে তাঁর বাড়িতে ফিরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়, যা মুসলিম উম্মাহকে গভীর শোকে নিমজ্জিত করে।
১৯ রমযানের আমল
এটি কদরের সম্ভাব্য রাতগুলোর (লাইলাতুল কদর) মধ্যে প্রথম। মুমিনরা কদরের আমল করতে, কুরআন তিলাওয়াত করতে এবং বিশেষ নামাজ আদায় করতে সারা রাত জেগে থাকেন। ইমাম আলি (আ.)-এর জিয়ারত পাঠ করা, তাঁর ঘাতকদের অভিশাপ দেওয়া এবং এই বিশাল ট্র্যাজেডিতে শোক প্রকাশ করা এই রাতের অপরিহার্য আমল।
