The Completion of Forty Days
Arbaeen, which means 'forty', falls on the 20th of Safar and commemorates the 40th day after the tragedy of Ashura. Historically, on this day, the caravan of captives led by Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and Lady Zainab (s.a.) returned to the plains of Karbala from Damascus to mourn their beloved martyrs for the first time properly. The World's Largest Peaceful Gathering
Today, Arbaeen is marked by the 'Arbaeen Walk' (Mashi), where millions of devoted lovers from around the world walk hundreds of kilometers from Najaf to Karbala. It stands as the largest annual peaceful public gathering globally, symbolizing a profound and unifying stance against tyranny and a demonstration of boundless love for Imam Hussain (a.s.).
Aamal for Arbaeen
The most important Aamal of this day is the recitation of 'Ziyarat Arbaeen', which Imam Hassan al-Askari (a.s.) described as one of the five signs of a true believer. Holding majalis, participating in mourning processions, and feeding the mourners are widely practiced traditions on this sacred day.
চল্লিশ দিনের সমাপ্তি
আরবাইন, যার অর্থ 'চল্লিশ', ২০ সফর পালিত হয় এবং এটি আশুরার ট্র্যাজেডির পর ৪০তম দিনকে স্মরণ করে। ঐতিহাসিকভাবে, এই দিনে ইমাম সাজ্জাদ (আ.) এবং হযরত জয়নব (সালামুল্লাহ আলাইহি)-এর নেতৃত্বে বন্দীদের কাফেলা দামেস্ক থেকে কারবালার প্রান্তরে প্রথমবারের মতো যথাযথভাবে তাদের প্রিয় শহীদদের শোক পালনের জন্য ফিরে এসেছিল। তাদের সাথে দেখা হয়েছিল জাবির ইবনে আবদুল্লাহ আল-আনসারির, যিনি ছিলেন ইমাম হুসাইনের মাজারের প্রথম জিয়ারতকারী। (সূত্র: লুহুফ)
বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম শান্তিপূর্ণ সমাবেশ
আজ, আরবাইন 'আরবাইন ওয়াক' (মাশি) দ্বারা চিহ্নিত করা হয়, যেখানে সারা বিশ্ব থেকে লক্ষ লক্ষ নিবেদিত প্রেমিক নাজাফ থেকে কারবালা পর্যন্ত শত শত কিলোমিটার হেঁটে যান। এটি বিশ্বব্যাপী বৃহত্তম বার্ষিক শান্তিপূর্ণ জনসমাবেশ হিসেবে দাঁড়িয়েছে, যা স্বৈরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে এক গভীর ও ঐক্যবদ্ধ অবস্থান এবং ইমাম হুসাইনের (আ.) প্রতি অসীম ভালোবাসার প্রদর্শনের প্রতীক।
আরবাইনের আমল
এই দিনের সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আমল হলো 'জিয়ারতে আরবাইন' পাঠ করা, যাকে ইমাম হাসান আল-আসকারী (আ.) একজন প্রকৃত মুমিনের পাঁচটি লক্ষণের একটি হিসেবে বর্ণনা করেছেন। মজলিস করা, শোক মিছিলে অংশ নেওয়া এবং শোককারীদের খাওয়ানো এই পবিত্র দিনে ব্যাপকভাবে পালিত ঐতিহ্য।
