The Pure Guide

Imam Ali al-Hadi (a.s.) was born on the 15th of Dhul Hijjah 212 AH in Medina. His titles include 'Al-Hadi' (The Guide) and 'Al-Naqi' (The Pure). He assumed the Imamate at a young age following the martyrdom of his father, Imam al-Jawad (a.s.). (Source: Al-Irshad)

His Struggle in Samarra

The tyrannical Abbasid caliph Mutawakkil, notorious for his extreme hatred of the Ahl al-Bayt and for destroying the shrine of Imam Hussain (a.s.), forcibly relocated the Imam from Medina to Samarra, the Abbasid military capital. Despite being under strict surveillance, the Imam established a vast network of representatives (Wukala) to guide the Shia community globally.

Aamal for 15th Dhul Hijjah

It is recommended to celebrate this auspicious day, recite his Ziyarat, and perform acts of charity. The famous 'Ziyarat al-Jami'a al-Kabira', the most comprehensive Ziyarat explaining the unparalleled status of the Imams, was taught by Imam al-Hadi (a.s.) and is highly recommended to be read.
