Ta’qibat after Asr
This page has two duas to recite after the Asr prayer. Shaykh Abbas Qummi lists them in Mafatih al-Jinan among the ta’qibat of Asr, quoting Shaykh Tusi’s Misbah al-Mutahajjid. In the first, the servant comes before Allah as poor, helpless and seeking refuge, asking forgiveness and that his repentance be accepted. The second seeks refuge from a soul that is never satisfied, a heart that is not humble, knowledge that brings no benefit, and prayers that are not accepted. It also asks for ease after hardship and relief after distress.
Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (a.s.) said that whoever says “Astaghfirullah” seventy times after Asr, Allah forgives him seven hundred sins. Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (a.s.) said that whoever recites Surah al-Qadr ten times after Asr receives a reward equal to the deeds of all creation that day.
How to Recite It
After the Asr prayer and the general ta’qibat, recite these two duas. It is also recommended to say “Astaghfirullah” seventy times and to recite Surah al-Qadr ten times.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
বিসমিল্লাহির রাহমানির রাহীম
পরম করুণাময়, অসীম দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে।
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ
আসতাগফিরুল্লাহাল্লাযী লা ইলাহা ইল্লা হুওয়া
আমি আল্লাহর কাছে ক্ষমা চাই, যিনি ছাড়া কোনো উপাস্য নেই,
Astaghfirullahal ladhi la ilaha illa huwa
I ask forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no god,
ٱلْحَيُّ ٱلْقَيُّومُ
আল হাইয়ুল কাইয়ূম
যিনি চিরঞ্জীব, সবকিছুর ধারক,
al Hayyul Qayyum
the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting,
ٱلرَّحْمٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
আর রাহমানুর রাহীম
পরম করুণাময়, অসীম দয়ালু,
ar Rahmanur Rahim
the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
ذُو ٱلْجَلاَلِ وَٱلإِكْرَامِ
যুল জালালি ওয়াল ইকরাম
মহিমা ও মহানুভবতার অধিকারী।
dhul jalali wal ikram
the Lord of Majesty and Honor.
وَأَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيَّ
ওয়া আসআলুহু আন ইয়াতূবা আলাইয়
আমি তাঁর কাছে চাই, তিনি যেন আমার তওবা কবুল করেন,
Wa as'aluhu an yatuba 'alayy
And I ask Him to accept my repentance,
تَوْبَةَ عَبْدٍ ذَلِيلٍ خَاضِعٍ
তাওবাতা আবদিন যালীলিন খাদি
এমন বান্দার তওবা হিসেবে, যে হীন ও বিনীত,
tawbata 'abdin dhalilin khadi'
the repentance of a servant who is lowly and humble,
فَقِيرٍ بَائِسٍ
ফাকীরিম বাইস
দরিদ্র ও দুর্দশাগ্রস্ত,
faqirim ba'is
poor and wretched,
مِسْكِينٍ مُسْتَكِينٍ مُسْتَجِيرٍ
মিসকীনিম মুসতাকীনিম মুসতাজীর
অসহায়, নত ও আশ্রয়প্রার্থী,
miskinim mustakinim mustajir
needy, submissive and seeking refuge,
لاَ يَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِهِ نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً
লা ইয়ামলিকু লিনাফসিহী নাফআও ওয়া লা দাররা
যে নিজের কোনো উপকার বা ক্ষতির ক্ষমতা রাখে না,
la yamliku linafsihi naf'aw wa la darra
who has no power over any benefit or harm for himself,
وَلاَ مَوْتاً وَلاَ حَيَاةً وَلاَ نُشُوراً
ওয়া লা মাওতাও ওয়া লা হায়াতাও ওয়া লা নুশূরা
আর মৃত্যু, জীবন ও পুনরুত্থানের ওপরও কোনো ক্ষমতা রাখে না।
wa la mawtaw wa la hayataw wa la nushura
nor over death, life or resurrection.
This dua seeks refuge from a soul that is never satisfied, a heart that is not humble, knowledge that brings no benefit and worship that is not accepted, and asks Allah for ease, relief and comfort after hardship.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
বিসমিল্লাহির রাহমানির রাহীম
পরম করুণাময়, অসীম দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে।
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ نَفْسٍ لاَ تَشْبَعُ
আল্লাহুম্মা ইন্নী আঊযু বিকা মিন নাফসিন লা তাশবা
হে আল্লাহ, আমি আপনার আশ্রয় চাই এমন নফস থেকে, যা কখনো তৃপ্ত হয় না,
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min nafsin la tashba'
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from a soul that is never satisfied,
وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لاَ يَخْشَعُ
ওয়া মিন কালবিন লা ইয়াখশা
এমন অন্তর থেকে, যা বিনীত হয় না,
wa min qalbin la yakhsha'
from a heart that is not humble,
وَمِنْ عِلْمٍ لاَ يَنْفَعُ
ওয়া মিন ইলমিন লা ইয়ানফা
এমন জ্ঞান থেকে, যা উপকারে আসে না,
wa min 'ilmin la yanfa'
from knowledge that is of no benefit,
وَمِنْ صَلاَةٍ لاَ تُرْفَعُ
ওয়া মিন সালাতিন লা তুরফা
এমন নামাজ থেকে, যা গ্রহণীয় হয় না,
wa min salatin la turfa'
from a prayer that is not accepted,
وَمِنْ دُعَاءٍ لاَ يُسْمَعُ
ওয়া মিন দুআইন লা ইউসমা
এবং এমন দোয়া থেকে, যা কবুল হয় না।
wa min du'a'in la yusma'
and from a supplication that is not answered.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ ٱلْيُسْرَ بَعْدَ ٱلْعُسْرِ
আল্লাহুম্মা ইন্নী আসআলুকাল ইউসরা বা'দাল উসর
হে আল্লাহ, আমি আপনার কাছে চাই কষ্টের পর স্বস্তি,
Allahumma inni as'alukal yusra ba'dal 'usr
O Allah, I ask You for ease after hardship,
وَٱلْفَرَجَ بَعْدَ ٱلْكَرْبِ
ওয়াল ফারাজা বা'দাল কারব
দুশ্চিন্তার পর মুক্তি
wal faraja ba'dal karb
relief after distress
وَٱلرَّخَاءَ بَعْدَ ٱلشِّدَّةِ
ওয়ার রাখাআ বা'দাশ শিদ্দাহ
এবং কঠিন সময়ের পর সচ্ছলতা।
war rakha'a ba'dash shiddah
and comfort after difficulty.
اَللَّهُمَّ مَا بِنَا مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنْكَ
আল্লাহুম্মা মা বিনা মিন নি'মাতিন ফামিনকা
হে আল্লাহ, আমাদের কাছে যত নেয়ামত আছে, সবই আপনার পক্ষ থেকে।
Allahumma ma bina min ni'matin faminka
O Allah, every blessing we have is from You.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
লা ইলাহা ইল্লা আনতা
আপনি ছাড়া কোনো উপাস্য নেই।
La ilaha illa anta
There is no god but You.
أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
আসতাগফিরুকা ওয়া আতূবু ইলাইক
আমি আপনার কাছে ক্ষমা চাই এবং আপনার দিকেই ফিরে আসি।
Astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk
I ask Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
