Zayd ibn Ma'qil (r.a.)

Zayd ibn Ma'qil al-Ju'fi (r.a.) (often referred to as Yazid ibn Maghfil or Yazid ibn Ma'qil) was a valiant companion of Imam al-Husayn (a.s.). He was known as a brave warrior, a skilled poet, and a steadfast follower of the Ahl al-Bayt. His loyalty to the household of the Prophet was deep-rooted; he had previously fought alongside Imam Ali (a.s.) in the major battles of Siffin and Nahrawan.

When the tragedy of Karbala unfolded, Zayd once again stood to defend the Imam of his time. He valiantly fought against the massive army of Umar ibn Sa'd and achieved martyrdom on the Day of Ashura, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and courage.
