Conversion to Islam
Wahb ibn Abdullah al-Kalbi was a young Christian who, along with his mother and newlywed bride, met Imam Husayn on the way to Karbala. Deeply moved by the Imam's spirituality, righteousness, and the unjust situation he faced, Wahb and his family converted to Islam. They chose to join the Imam's caravan, prepared to sacrifice their lives for the truth.
Bravery at Karbala
On the Day of Ashura, encouraged by his devout mother, Wahb entered the battlefield. He fought with the strength of a seasoned warrior, displaying remarkable courage and skill. Despite the pleas of his young bride who feared losing him, Wahb's mother urged him on, telling him that she would not be pleased with him until he sacrificed his life for the grandson of the Prophet.
Martyrdom
Wahb fought fiercely, inflicting heavy casualties on the Umayyad army, but was eventually surrounded and martyred. The enemy severed his head and threw it towards his mother. In an incredible display of resilience, she threw the head back, declaring that what is given in the way of Allah is not taken back.
