Dedication to the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.)
Ubaydullah ibn Yazid al-Abdi, alongside his brother Abdullah, accepted their father's call to join Imam Husayn (a.s.) in his stand against tyranny. Fleeing the oppressive environment of Basra under Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad's control, they successfully reached the Imam in Mecca.
Sacrifice at Karbala
Ubaydullah marched with the caravan of Imam Husayn (a.s.) towards Kufa and ended up in the desert of Karbala. On the 10th of Muharram, he was among the companions who fought in the first attack of the Umayyad army. His sacrifice is a testament to the profound loyalty the Shia of Basra held for the Imam. আহলে বাইত (আ.)-এর প্রতি উৎসর্গ
উবাইদুল্লাহ ইবনে ইয়াজিদ আল-আবাদি, তাঁর ভাই আবদুল্লাহর পাশাপাশি, স্বৈরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-এর সাথে যোগ দেওয়ার জন্য তাঁর পিতার ডাক গ্রহণ করেছিলেন। উবাইদুল্লাহ ইবনে জিয়াদের নিয়ন্ত্রণের অধীনে বসরার নিপীড়নমূলক পরিবেশ থেকে পালিয়ে তারা মক্কায় ইমামের কাছে সফলভাবে পৌঁছাতে সক্ষম হন।
কারবালায় আত্মত্যাগ
উবাইদুল্লাহ ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-এর কাফেলার সাথে কুফার দিকে যাত্রা করেন এবং কারবালার মরুভূমিতে এসে পৌঁছান। ১০ই মুহাররম, তিনি উমাইয়া বাহিনীর প্রথম আক্রমণে লড়াই করা সঙ্গীদের মধ্যে ছিলেন। তাঁর আত্মত্যাগ বসরার শিয়াদের ইমামের প্রতি গভীর আনুগত্যের প্রমাণ। ঐতিহাসিক উদ্ধৃতিগুলি Al-Islam.org-এ উপলব্ধ।
