Early Life and Devotion to Ahl al-Bayt
Muslim ibn Kathir al-Azdi al-A'raj was a distinguished companion of Amir al-Mu'minin Imam Ali (A.S). He earned the title "al-A'raj" (the limping one) because he had sustained a severe leg injury while fighting valiantly alongside Imam Ali (A.S) in the Battle of Jamal. His loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt was unwavering, and he also actively participated in the Battle of Siffin.
Role in Kufa and Joining Imam Husayn
When Muslim ibn Aqil arrived in Kufa as the emissary of Imam Husayn (A.S), Muslim ibn Kathir was among the early supporters who pledged allegiance. After the tragic martyrdom of Muslim ibn Aqil and the shifting loyalties in Kufa, he, along with his servant (or companion) Nafi', left the city and managed to join Imam Husayn's camp in Karbala.
Martyrdom at Karbala
Despite his physical disability from previous holy wars, his spirit remained unbroken. On the Day of Ashura, he stood on the battlefield with immense zeal. Historical texts, including The Event of Taff (Abu Mikhnaf), record that he was martyred during the fierce first assault (al-Hamlah al-Ula) by the Umayyad forces. His sacrifice stands as a testament to lifelong devotion to the Prophet's family, defending them until his last breath.
প্রাথমিক জীবন এবং আহলে বাইতের প্রতি ভক্তি
মুসলিম ইবনে কাসির আল-আজদী আল-আরাজ আমিরুল মুমিনীন ইমাম আলী (আ.) এর একজন বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গী ছিলেন। তিনি "আল-আরাজ" (খঞ্জ) উপাধি লাভ করেছিলেন কারণ তিনি জামাল যুদ্ধে ইমাম আলী (আ.) এর পাশে বীরত্বের সাথে লড়াই করার সময় পায়ে মারাত্মক আঘাত পেয়েছিলেন। আহলে বাইতের প্রতি তাঁর আনুগত্য ছিল অবিচল এবং তিনি সিফফিনের যুদ্ধেও সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিলেন।
কুফায় ভূমিকা এবং ইমাম হোসাইনের সাথে যোগদান
যখন মুসলিম ইবনে আকিল ইমাম হোসাইন (আ.) এর দূত হিসেবে কুফায় পৌঁছান, তখন মুসলিম ইবনে কাসির প্রথম দিককার সমর্থকদের মধ্যে একজন ছিলেন যারা আনুগত্যের শপথ নিয়েছিলেন। মুসলিম ইবনে আকিলের মর্মান্তিক শাহাদাত এবং কুফায় আনুগত্য পরিবর্তনের পর, তিনি তার ভৃত্য (বা সঙ্গী) নাফির সাথে শহর ত্যাগ করেন এবং কারবালায় ইমাম হোসাইনের শিবিরে যোগ দিতে সক্ষম হন।
কারবালায় শাহাদাত
পূর্ববর্তী পবিত্র যুদ্ধের শারীরিক অক্ষমতা সত্ত্বেও, তাঁর চেতনা অটুট ছিল। আশুরার দিনে তিনি প্রচণ্ড উৎসাহের সাথে যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন। ঐতিহাসিক গ্রন্থ, যার মধ্যে দ্য ইভেন্ট অফ তাফ (আবু মিখনাফ) অন্তর্ভুক্ত, রেকর্ড করে যে তিনি উমাইয়া বাহিনীর ভয়ানক প্রথম হামলায় (আল-হামলাহ আল-উলা) শহীদ হয়েছিলেন। তাঁর আত্মত্যাগ নবীর পরিবারের প্রতি আজীবন ভক্তির এক জ্বলন্ত প্রমাণ, যারা শেষ নিশ্বাস পর্যন্ত তাঁদের রক্ষা করেছিলেন।
