Early Life and Background
Amr ibn Junada al-Ansari was a very young boy, aged around 11 or 12, who traveled to Karbala with his parents. His father, Junada ibn al-Harith, was a loyal companion of Imam Husayn (A.S.) who was martyred during the first major assault on the morning of Ashura.
Role in Karbala
Following his father's martyrdom, Amr's mother commanded him to go to the battlefield to defend the Imam. Amr went to Imam Husayn (A.S.) to seek permission to fight. Seeing the young boy whose father had just been killed, the Imam initially hesitated, saying, "His father has just been killed; perhaps his mother does not want him to go to the battlefield." But Amr responded, "O son of the Messenger of Allah, my mother has ordered me to fight and equipped me with this sword!" Touched by their immense devotion, the Imam granted him permission.
Martyrdom
Amr entered the battlefield reciting moving poetry: "My leader is Husayn, and what an excellent leader! The delight of the heart of the Messenger of Allah." Despite his tender age, he fought bravely until the ruthless army struck him down. In an act of extreme brutality, the enemy severed his head and threw it towards Imam Husayn's camp. His brave mother picked up the head, kissed it, and threw it back at the enemy, saying, "We do not take back what we have sacrificed in the way of Allah!" She then took up a tent pole and attacked the enemy before the Imam called her back. This heartbreaking event is detailed in Martyrs of Karbala.
প্রারম্ভিক জীবন ও পটভূমি
আমর ইবনে জুনাদা আল-আনসারী ছিলেন প্রায় ১১ বা ১২ বছর বয়সী এক কিশোর, যে তার পিতা-মাতার সাথে কারবালায় গিয়েছিল। তার পিতা, জুনাদা ইবনে আল-হারিস, ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-এর একজন বিশ্বস্ত সঙ্গী ছিলেন যিনি আশুরার সকালে প্রথম বড় আক্রমণের সময় শহীদ হন।
কারবালায় ভূমিকা
পিতার শাহাদাতের পর, আমরের মা তাকে ইমামকে রক্ষা করার জন্য যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে যাওয়ার নির্দেশ দেন। আমর ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-এর কাছে যুদ্ধের অনুমতি চাইতে যায়। সদ্য পিতৃহারা এই বালকটিকে দেখে ইমাম প্রথমে ইতস্তত করে বলেন, "ওর পিতা সবেমাত্র নিহত হয়েছে; হয়তো ওর মা চায় না যে সে যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে যাক।" কিন্তু আমর উত্তর দেয়, "হে আল্লাহর রাসূলের সন্তান, আমার মা আমাকে যুদ্ধ করার নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন এবং এই তলোয়ার দিয়ে আমাকে সজ্জিত করেছেন!" তাদের অগাধ ভক্তিতে মুগ্ধ হয়ে ইমাম তাকে অনুমতি দেন।
শাহাদাত
আমর হৃদয়গ্রাহী কবিতা আবৃত্তি করতে করতে যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে প্রবেশ করে: "আমার নেতা হলেন হুসাইন, এবং কী চমৎকার নেতা! আল্লাহর রাসূলের হৃদয়ের আনন্দ।" অল্প বয়স হওয়া সত্ত্বেও সে অত্যন্ত বীরত্বের সাথে যুদ্ধ করেছিল যতক্ষণ না নিষ্ঠুর বাহিনী তাকে আঘাত করে। চরম নৃশংসতার সাথে শত্রুরা তার মাথা কেটে ইমাম হুসাইনের শিবিরের দিকে ছুঁড়ে মারে। তার সাহসী মা মাথাটি তুলে নেন, চুম্বন করেন এবং শত্রুদের দিকে ছুঁড়ে দিয়ে বলেন, "আল্লাহর পথে আমরা যা উৎসর্গ করেছি তা আমরা ফিরিয়ে নিই না!" এরপর তিনি একটি তাঁবুর খুঁটি তুলে নিয়ে শত্রুদের আক্রমণ করেন, যতক্ষণ না ইমাম তাঁকে ফিরিয়ে ডাকেন। এই হৃদয়বিদারক ঘটনাটি কারবালার শহীদগণ গ্রন্থে বিস্তারিত বর্ণিত হয়েছে।
