Lineage and Background
Ammar ibn Hassan ibn Shuraib al-Ta'i belonged to a family renowned for their unwavering devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt. His father, Hassan ibn Shuraib, was a distinguished companion and a valiant martyr who fought alongside Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) in the decisive Battle of Siffin. Raised in a household steeped in the love of the Prophet's family, Ammar naturally aligned himself with the cause of truth.
Journey to Karbala and Martyrdom
When Imam Husayn (a.s.) refused to pledge allegiance to Yazid and embarked on his journey toward Kufa, Ammar was among the loyal Shi'a who joined the Imam's caravan. Historical sources, including Rijal al-Tusi, confirm his presence among the devoted companions who stood firm against the massive Umayyad army. On the tragic Day of Ashura, Ammar fought bravely in the early skirmishes, defending the grandson of the Prophet until he attained martyrdom. His name is honored in the Ziyarah of the martyrs.

যখন ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.) ইয়াজিদের প্রতি আনুগত্য প্রকাশ করতে অস্বীকার করেন এবং কুফার দিকে যাত্রা শুরু করেন, তখন আম্মার সেই বিশ্বস্ত শিয়াদের একজন ছিলেন যারা ইমামের কাফেলার সাথে যোগ দিয়েছিলেন। রিজাল আল-তুসি সহ ঐতিহাসিক সূত্রগুলো বিশাল উমাইয়া বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে দৃঢ়ভাবে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা নিবেদিত সঙ্গীদের মধ্যে তার উপস্থিতি নিশ্চিত করে। আশুরার মর্মান্তিক দিনে আম্মার প্রাথমিক যুদ্ধে সাহসিকতার সাথে লড়াই করেছিলেন, এবং নবীর নাতিকে রক্ষা করতে গিয়ে শাহাদাত বরণ করেন। শহীদদের জিয়ারতে তাকে সম্মানভরে স্মরণ করা হয়।
