Journey to Imam Husayn (a.s.)
Abdullah ibn Yazid al-Abdi was one of the two sons of Yazid ibn Thubayt who answered his father's call to support Imam Husayn (a.s.). While his other brothers chose to stay behind in Basra, Abdullah demonstrated unyielding faith and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.).
Role and Martyrdom in Karbala
He accompanied his father and brother Ubaydullah on the perilous journey from Basra to Mecca, and then to Karbala. On the tragic Day of Ashura, Abdullah fought fiercely against the forces of Yazid. According to Shia historical accounts like Maqtal al-Husayn, he was martyred in the early stages of the battle. His steadfastness is commemorated in Shia traditions.
