Lineage and Loyalty
Abdullah ibn Urwa al-Ghifari belonged to the respected Banu Ghifar tribe. He and his brother, Abd al-Rahman, were noblemen of Kufa. Their family had a deep-rooted history of loyalty to the Ahl al-Bayt; their grandfather, Harraq al-Ghifari, was a renowned and faithful companion of Imam Ali (a.s.) who had fought under his banner in various battles. Inheriting this legacy, Abdullah did not hesitate to support Imam Husayn (a.s.).
The Ultimate Sacrifice
When Imam Husayn arrived at Karbala, Abdullah and his brother managed to join the Imam's camp. On the Day of Ashura, witnessing the multitude of the enemy and the dwindling numbers of the Imam's defenders, the two brothers approached Imam Husayn together. With tears in their eyes, they sought permission to enter the battlefield. They fought with tremendous bravery, striking the enemy ranks until Abdullah was heavily wounded and ultimately martyred. His devotion is forever remembered in the Ziyarah al-Nahiyyah.

আবদুল্লাহ ইবনে উরওয়া আল-গিফারী সম্মানিত বনু গিফার গোত্রের সদস্য ছিলেন। তিনি এবং তার ভাই আবদুর রহমান কুফার সম্ভ্রান্ত ব্যক্তি ছিলেন। তাদের পরিবারের আহলে বাইতের প্রতি আনুগত্যের এক গভীর ইতিহাস ছিল; তাদের দাদা, হাররাক আল-গিফারী, ছিলেন ইমাম আলী (আ.)-এর একজন বিখ্যাত এবং বিশ্বস্ত সঙ্গী যিনি বিভিন্ন যুদ্ধে তার পতাকাতলে লড়াই করেছিলেন। এই উত্তরাধিকার ধারণ করে, আবদুল্লাহ ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-কে সমর্থন করতে দ্বিধা করেননি।
চূড়ান্ত আত্মত্যাগ
ইমাম হুসাইন যখন কারবালায় পৌঁছান, তখন আবদুল্লাহ এবং তার ভাই ইমামের শিবিরে যোগ দিতে সক্ষম হন। আশুরার দিন, শত্রুদের বিশাল বাহিনী এবং ইমামের রক্ষকদের ক্রমহ্রাসমান সংখ্যা দেখে, দুই ভাই একসাথে ইমাম হুসাইনের কাছে যান। চোখে জল নিয়ে তারা যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে প্রবেশের অনুমতি চান। তারা অসীম সাহসিকতার সাথে লড়াই করেছিলেন, শত্রুদের সারিতে আঘাত হেনেছিলেন যতক্ষণ না আবদুল্লাহ মারাত্মকভাবে আহত হন এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত শাহাদাত বরণ করেন। জিয়ারত আল-নাহিয়্যাহ-তে তার এই ভক্তি চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে আছে।
