Identity and Arrival
Suwar ibn Abi Humayr al-Fahmi (also spelled Siwar ibn Abi Humayr) was a courageous companion of Imam Husayn (a.s.) from Kufa. Deeply moved by the plight of the Prophet's family, Suwar broke through the military cordons surrounding Kufa and made his way to Karbala to offer his sword and his life in defense of the Imam.
The Battle of Karbala
On the bloody Day of Ashura, Suwar fought valiantly in the initial onslaught and subsequent skirmishes. Rather than being killed instantly, he fought until his body was riddled with arrows and sword strikes. Severely wounded and bleeding profusely, he collapsed on the battlefield, incapacitated but still alive among the fallen heroes.
Capture and Martyrdom
Following the massacre, the forces of Umar ibn Sa'd found Suwar barely clinging to life. He was taken as a prisoner of war to Kufa. Despite being a captive, his spirit remained unbroken. Due to the extreme severity of his wounds and the lack of care from his captors, Suwar ibn Abi Humayr succumbed to his injuries shortly after, cementing his status as one of the noble martyrs of Karbala. পরিচয় ও আগমন
সুওয়ার ইবনে আবি হুমায়র আল-ফাহমি (সিওয়ার ইবনে আবি হুমায়র নামেও পরিচিত) ছিলেন কুফা থেকে আসা ইমাম হোসাইন (আঃ)-এর একজন সাহসী সাহাবী। মহানবীর পরিবারের দুর্দশায় গভীরভাবে মর্মাহত হয়ে সুওয়ার কুফার চারপাশের সামরিক অবরোধ ভেঙে কারবালায় পৌঁছান এবং ইমামের প্রতিরক্ষায় নিজের তরবারি ও জীবন উৎসর্গ করেন।
কারবালার যুদ্ধ
রক্তাক্ত আশুরার দিন, সুওয়ার প্রাথমিক আক্রমণ এবং পরবর্তী খণ্ডযুদ্ধগুলোতে বীরত্বের সাথে লড়াই করেছিলেন। তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে নিহত হওয়ার পরিবর্তে, তিনি ততক্ষণ পর্যন্ত লড়াই করেছিলেন যতক্ষণ না তাঁর শরীর তীর এবং তরবারির আঘাতে ক্ষতবিক্ষত হয়ে যায়। মারাত্মকভাবে আহত এবং প্রচুর রক্তক্ষরণের ফলে তিনি যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে লুটিয়ে পড়েন, চলৎশক্তিহীন হয়ে পড়লেও পতিত বীরদের মাঝে তিনি তখনও বেঁচে ছিলেন।
বন্দীত্ব ও শাহাদাত
গণহত্যার পর উমর ইবনে সা'দের বাহিনী সুওয়ারকে মুমূর্ষু অবস্থায় খুঁজে পায়। তাঁকে যুদ্ধবন্দী হিসেবে কুফায় নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। বন্দী হওয়া সত্ত্বেও তাঁর মনোবল ভাঙেনি। তাঁর ক্ষতের চরম তীব্রতা এবং বন্দীকারীদের অবহেলার কারণে সুওয়ার ইবনে আবি হুমায়র কিছুদিন পরই শাহাদাত বরণ করেন এবং কারবালার অন্যতম শ্রেষ্ঠ শহীদ হিসেবে তাঁর মর্যাদা সুপ্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়। তাঁর এই অনন্য আত্মত্যাগ শিয়া ঐতিহ্যে লিপিবদ্ধ রয়েছে। বিস্তারিত তথ্য Al-Islam.org-এ পাওয়া যাবে।
