Early Life and Lineage
Sa'd ibn Hanzala al-Tamimi (sometimes cited as Hanzala ibn As'ad al-Shibami in certain historical discussions due to manuscript variations) was a noble companion of Imam Husayn (a). He belonged to the prominent Tamim tribe (or Shibam, a branch of Hamdan). He was highly respected in Kufa for his eloquence and knowledge of the Quran.
Role at Karbala
On the Day of Ashura, he stood bravely with Imam Husayn (a). Before entering the battlefield, he approached the Kufan army and eloquently recited verses from the Holy Quran, specifically from Surah Ghafir (verses 30-33), warning them of a day of distress and punishment, similar to the fate of past nations who rejected their prophets. He pleaded with them not to shed the blood of the grandson of the Prophet (s). According to sources on Al-Islam.org, Imam Husayn (a) appreciated his efforts and prayed for him, saying, "May Allah have mercy on you... They have become deserving of the punishment when they rejected your call."
Martyrdom
After his powerful exhortation, Sa'd requested the Imam's permission to fight. He entered the battlefield fighting fiercely against the forces of Umar ibn Sa'd until he was surrounded and attained martyrdom, defending the Ahl al-Bayt (a).
প্রাথমিক জীবন ও বংশপরিচয়

কারবালায় ভূমিকা
আশুরার দিন, তিনি ইমাম হুসাইনের (আ.) পাশে বীরত্বের সাথে দাঁড়িয়েছিলেন। যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে প্রবেশের পূর্বে, তিনি কুফার সেনাবাহিনীর কাছে গিয়ে অত্যন্ত সাবলীলভাবে পবিত্র কোরআন থেকে আয়াত তিলাওয়াত করেন, বিশেষ করে সূরা গাফিরের (৩০-৩৩ আয়াত) আয়াতসমূহ পাঠ করে তাদের অতীতের অবাধ্য জাতিগুলোর শাস্তির কথা স্মরণ করিয়ে দেন। তিনি তাদের নবী (সা.)-এর দৌহিত্রের রক্তপাত না করার জন্য অনুরোধ করেন। আল-ইসলাম ডট অর্গের সূত্র অনুযায়ী, ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.) তার এই প্রচেষ্টার প্রশংসা করেন এবং তার জন্য দোয়া করে বলেন, "আল্লাহ তোমার প্রতি রহম করুন... তারা শাস্তির যোগ্য হয়েছে যখন তারা তোমার আহ্বান প্রত্যাখ্যান করেছে।"
শাহাদাত
তার এই শক্তিশালী ভাষণের পর, সা'দ ইমামের কাছে যুদ্ধের অনুমতি প্রার্থনা করেন। তিনি যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে প্রবেশ করে উমর ইবনে সা'দের বাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে তীব্রভাবে লড়াই করেন, যতক্ষণ না তিনি অবরুদ্ধ হন এবং আহলে বাইতকে (আ.) রক্ষা করতে গিয়ে শাহাদাত বরণ করেন।
