Journey to Imam Husayn (a)
Amr ibn Khalid al-Saydawi was a prominent Shia of Kufa who, recognizing the betrayal of the Kufans, decided to leave the city to support Imam Husayn (a). Accompanied by his servant Sa'd, Jabir ibn al-Harith, and Majma' ibn 'Abdullah, they managed to slip out of Kufa under the guidance of al-Tirimmah. They met Imam Husayn (a) at 'Udhayb al-Hijanat and joined his caravan. Historical texts on Al-Islam.org document their perilous journey and unwavering resolve.
Role at Karbala
Throughout the siege, Amr ibn Khalid remained steadfast. On the Day of Ashura, recognizing that the battle was inevitable, he approached Imam Husayn (a) and expressed his desire to join his fallen companions in heaven. He, along with his three companions, formed a small but formidable unit.
Martyrdom
Amr and his group launched a coordinated and fierce assault against the army of Umar ibn Sa'd. They penetrated deep into the enemy lines but were eventually surrounded. Seeing their plight, Abbas ibn Ali (a) charged into the enemy to rescue them. Although they were successfully extracted, they were severely wounded. Undeterred, they returned to the fight and were all martyred together in the same location, earning eternal glory.
ইমাম হুসাইনের (আ.) উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা
আমর ইবনে খালিদ আল-সায়দাবী ছিলেন কুফার একজন বিশিষ্ট শিয়া, যিনি কুফাবাসীদের বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা বুঝতে পেরে ইমাম হুসাইনকে (আ.) সমর্থন করার জন্য শহর ছেড়ে যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। তার দাস সা'দ, জাবির ইবনে আল-হারিস এবং মাজমা' ইবনে আব্দুল্লাহর সাথে তিনি আল-তিরিম্মাহর নির্দেশনায় কুফা থেকে বের হতে সক্ষম হন। তারা 'উযাইব আল-হিজানাতে' ইমাম হুসাইনের (আ.) সাথে দেখা করেন এবং তার কাফেলায় যোগ দেন। আল-ইসলাম ডট অর্গের ঐতিহাসিক গ্রন্থগুলোতে তাদের এই ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ যাত্রা এবং অটল সংকল্পের কথা লিপিবদ্ধ রয়েছে।
কারবালায় ভূমিকা
অবরোধ চলাকালীন আমর ইবনে খালিদ অবিচল ছিলেন। আশুরার দিন, যুদ্ধ অনিবার্য বুঝতে পেরে তিনি ইমাম হুসাইনের (আ.) কাছে গিয়ে বেহেশতে তার শহীদ সঙ্গীদের সাথে মিলিত হওয়ার ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেন। তিনি তার তিন সঙ্গীর সাথে একটি ছোট কিন্তু শক্তিশালী দল গঠন করেন।
শাহাদাত
আমর এবং তার দল উমর ইবনে সা'দের সেনাবাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে একটি সমন্বিত এবং তীব্র আক্রমণ চালায়। তারা শত্রুর সারির অনেক গভীরে প্রবেশ করে কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত অবরুদ্ধ হয়ে পড়ে। তাদের এই অবস্থা দেখে আব্বাস ইবনে আলী (আ.) তাদের উদ্ধার করার জন্য শত্রুদের উপর ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েন। যদিও তাদের সফলভাবে উদ্ধার করা হয়েছিল, কিন্তু তারা মারাত্মকভাবে আহত ছিলেন। দমে না গিয়ে তারা পুনরায় যুদ্ধে ফিরে আসেন এবং একই স্থানে একত্রে শহীদ হয়ে চিরস্থায়ী গৌরব অর্জন করেন।
