Abd al-Rahman ibn Urwa al-Ghifari, like his brother Abdullah, was brought up on the ideals and love of the Ahl al-Bayt. The legacy of their grandfather, Harraq al-Ghifari, who was a staunch supporter of Imam Ali (a.s.), strongly influenced Abd al-Rahman. When the call to support Imam Husayn (a.s.) arose, Abd al-Rahman left the comforts of Kufa to stand by the Imam in the desolate plains of Karbala.
Martyrdom on Ashura
On the tragic Day of Ashura, Abd al-Rahman and his brother presented themselves to Imam Husayn (a.s.). They expressed their grief over the Imam's solitary state and their eagerness to lay down their lives to protect him. Granted permission, they charged into the battlefield together. Abd al-Rahman fought fiercely, reciting poetry that reflected his faith and pure lineage. After inflicting significant casualties on the army of Umar ibn Sa'd, he was surrounded and martyred, joining his brother in eternal bliss.

যৌথ ভক্তি
আবদুর রহমান ইবনে উরওয়া আল-গিফারীও তার ভাই আবদুল্লাহর মতো আহলে বাইতের আদর্শ ও ভালোবাসায় বড় হয়েছিলেন। তাদের দাদা হাররাক আল-গিফারী, যিনি ইমাম আলী (আ.)-এর একনিষ্ঠ সমর্থক ছিলেন, তার উত্তরাধিকার আবদুর রহমানকে গভীরভাবে প্রভাবিত করেছিল। যখন ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-কে সমর্থন করার ডাক আসে, তখন আবদুর রহমান কারবালার জনশূন্য প্রান্তরে ইমামের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর জন্য কুফার আরামদায়ক জীবন ত্যাগ করেন।
আশুরার দিনে শাহাদাত
আশুরার মর্মান্তিক দিনে, আবদুর রহমান এবং তার ভাই ইমাম হুসাইন (আ.)-এর সামনে নিজেদের উপস্থাপন করেন। তারা ইমামের নিঃসঙ্গ অবস্থা নিয়ে শোক প্রকাশ করেন এবং তাকে রক্ষা করার জন্য জীবন উৎসর্গ করার গভীর আগ্রহ ব্যক্ত করেন। অনুমতি পেয়ে তারা একসঙ্গে যুদ্ধক্ষেত্রে ঝাঁপিয়ে পড়েন। আবদুর রহমান তার বিশ্বাস এবং পবিত্র বংশপরিচয়ের প্রতিফলনকারী কবিতা আবৃত্তি করে তীব্রভাবে লড়াই করেছিলেন। উমর ইবনে সাদের বাহিনীর ব্যাপক ক্ষয়ক্ষতি করার পর, তিনি অবরুদ্ধ হন এবং শহীদ হয়ে তার ভাইয়ের সাথে চিরন্তন শান্তিতে মিলিত হন।
