Friday - Ziyarat of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s)

This Ziyarat is also recorded in the chapter "Ziyarats of the Days of the Week" in the prominent book of supplications and Ziyarats, 'Mafatih al-Jinan' (Keys to Heavens), compiled by the renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Abbas Qumi. According to Shia tradition and belief, each day of the week is spiritually associated with specific members of the Prophet's Household (Ahl al-Bayt). Friday is dedicated to the Twelfth and final Imam of the Ahl al-Bayt, Hazrat Hujjat ibn Hasan al-Mahdi (A.T.F.S.). Friday (Jumu'ah) is particularly anticipated as the day of his reappearance (Zuhur). The main significance and themes of this Ziyarat are as follows: Anticipation and Waiting (Intizar): Through this Ziyarat, devotees express their deep longing and waiting for the savior of humanity, Imam al-Mahdi (A.S.). They fervently pray for his reappearance to eradicate injustice, tyranny, and oppression from the earth, and to establish universal justice, equality, and peace. The Living Proof (Hujjat): He is acknowledged as the Imam of our time and the living proof (Hujjat) of Allah on earth. Devotees offer their salutations, pledge allegiance to him, and honor him as the protector of truth. Seeking Spiritual Hospitality and Sanctuary: As with the other days, on Friday, devotees present themselves as the spiritual guests of the Imam of their time. Since he is believed to be alive and present (though in occultation), devotees directly seek his help, spiritual guidance in this life, and his intercession (Shafa'at) in the Hereafter.
