Habbab ibn Amir al-Taymi (r.a.) was a loyal Shi'a from Kufa. He initially pledged allegiance to Muslim ibn Aqil, Imam Husayn's emissary. However, after witnessing the betrayal of the Kufans toward Muslim ibn Aqil, he decided to leave Kufa. He successfully made his way to Imam Husayn (a.s.) and joined his caravan en route to Karbala.
In the Battle of Karbala, Habbab demonstrated immense bravery and loyalty. According to prominent Shi'a scholars such as Ibn Shahr Ashub, Habbab was among the devoted companions who were martyred during the fierce first attack on the morning of Ashura.
