Ta’qibat after Maghrib
This page gathers duas and dhikr to recite after the Maghrib prayer. Shaykh Abbas Qummi lists its two main duas in Mafatih al-Jinan among the ta’qibat of Maghrib, quoting Shaykh Tusi’s Misbah al-Mutahajjid. One glorifies Allah and asks Him to forgive every sin. The other asks for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness, safety from the Fire, Paradise and His pleasure, and nearness to the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.).
How to Recite It
According to Mafatih al-Jinan, after the Maghrib prayer and the Tasbih of Sayyida Fatimah (s.a.), first send salawat. Then say “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil ‘aliyyil ‘azim” seven times and “Alhamdu lillahil ladhi yaf’alu ma yasha’” three times. Next, recite “Subhanaka la ilaha illa anta…”. Then pray the four rak’ats of the Maghrib nafila in two sets of two, without speaking in between. After the nafila, say “Ma sha’a Allah, la quwwata illa billah, astaghfirullah” ten times, then recite “Allahumma inni as’aluka mujibati rahmatik…”.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
বিসমিল্লাহির রাহমানির রাহীম
পরম করুণাময়, অসীম দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে।
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مُوجِبَاتِ رَحْمَتِكَ
আল্লাহুম্মা ইন্নী আসআলুকা মূজিবাতি রাহমাতিক
হে আল্লাহ, আমি আপনার কাছে চাই সেসব বিষয়, যা আপনার রহমতকে অবধারিত করে,
Allahumma inni as'aluka mujibati rahmatik
O Allah, I ask You for what makes Your mercy certain,
وَعَزَائِمَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ
ওয়া আযাইমা মাগফিরাতিক
যা আপনার ক্ষমাকে নিশ্চিত করে,
wa 'aza'ima maghfiratik
what makes Your forgiveness sure,
وَٱلنَّجَاةَ مِنَ ٱلنَّارِ وَمِنْ كُلِّ بِلِيَّةٍ
ওয়ান নাজাতা মিনান নারি ওয়া মিন কুল্লি বালিয়্যাহ
জাহান্নামের আগুন ও সব বিপদ থেকে মুক্তি,
wan najata minan nari wa min kulli baliyyah
safety from the Fire and from every affliction,
وَٱلْفَوْزَ بِٱلْجَنَّةِ وَٱلرِّضْوَانِ فِي دَارِ ٱلسَّلاَمِ
ওয়াল ফাওযা বিল জান্নাতি ওয়ার রিদওয়ানি ফী দারিস সালাম
শান্তির আবাসে জান্নাত ও আপনার সন্তুষ্টি লাভের সাফল্য
wal fawza bil jannati war ridwani fi daris salam
success in gaining Paradise and Your pleasure in the Abode of Peace,
وَجِوَارَ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ ٱلسَّلاَمُ
ওয়া জিওয়ারা নাবিয়্যিকা মুহাম্মাদিন আলাইহি ওয়া আলিহিস সালাম
এবং আপনার নবী মুহাম্মাদের সান্নিধ্য, তাঁর ও তাঁর পরিবারের ওপর সালাম।
wa jiwara nabiyyika Muhammadin 'alayhi wa alihis salam
and nearness to Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family.
اَللَّهُمَّ مَا بِنَا مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنْكَ
আল্লাহুম্মা মা বিনা মিন নি'মাতিন ফামিনকা
হে আল্লাহ, আমাদের কাছে যত নেয়ামত আছে, সবই আপনার পক্ষ থেকে।
Allahumma ma bina min ni'matin faminka
O Allah, every blessing we have is from You.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
লা ইলাহা ইল্লা আনতা
আপনি ছাড়া কোনো উপাস্য নেই।
La ilaha illa anta
There is no god but You.
أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
আসতাগফিরুকা ওয়া আতূবু ইলাইক
আমি আপনার কাছে ক্ষমা চাই এবং আপনার দিকেই ফিরে আসি।
Astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk
I ask Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.
Recommended after the Maghrib prayer, these supplications and litanies are powerful prayers for protection from Hellfire, dying upon Islam, achieving total forgiveness, and being safeguarded from the trials of the grave.
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَجِرْنَا مِنَ النَّارِ سَالِمِينَ وَأَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلَامٍ آمِنِينَ
আল্লাহুম্মা আজিরনা মিনান নারি সালিমীনা ওয়া আদখিলনাল জান্নাতা বিসালামিন আমিনীন
হে আল্লাহ, আমাদের নিরাপদে জাহান্নামের আগুন থেকে রক্ষা করুন এবং শান্তি ও নিরাপত্তার সাথে জান্নাতে প্রবেশ করান,
Allahumma ajirna minan nari salimina wa adkhilnal jannata bisalamin aminin
O Allah, keep us safe and protect us from the Fire, and let us enter Paradise in peace and security,
وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ وَأَلْحِقْنَا بِالصَّالِحِينَ بِفَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
ওয়া তাওয়াফফানা মুসলিমীনা ওয়া আলহিকনা বিস সালিহীনা বিফাদলিকা ওয়া রাহমাতিকা ইয়া আরহামার রাহিমীন
আমাদের মুসলিম অবস্থায় মৃত্যু দিন এবং সৎকর্মশীলদের সাথে মিলিত করুন, আপনার অনুগ্রহ ও রহমতে, হে দয়ালুদের মধ্যে শ্রেষ্ঠ দয়ালু!
wa tawaffana muslimina wa alhiqna bis salihina bifadlika wa rahmatika ya Arhamar rahimin
let us die as Muslims and join us with the righteous, by Your grace and mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful!
This short dua glorifies Allah and asks for complete forgiveness. It is recited to remember Allah's perfection, admit one's faults and seek forgiveness from Him alone.
سُبْحَانَكَ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
সুবহানাকা লা ইলাহা ইল্লা আনতা
আপনি পবিত্র, আপনি ছাড়া কোনো উপাস্য নেই।
Subhanaka la ilaha illa anta
Glory be to You; there is no god but You.
اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي كُلَّهَا جَمِيعاً
ইগফির লী যুনূবী কুল্লাহা জামীআ
আমার সব গুনাহ একসাথে ক্ষমা করে দিন,
Ighfir li dhunubi kullaha jami'a
Forgive all my sins, every one of them,
فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ كُلَّهَا جَمِيعاً إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
ফাইন্নাহু লা ইয়াগফিরুয যুনূবা কুল্লাহা জামীআন ইল্লা আনতা
কারণ আপনি ছাড়া সব গুনাহ ক্ষমা করার কেউ নেই।
fa'innahu la yaghfirudh dhunuba kullaha jami'an illa anta
for no one forgives all sins but You.
Dhikr (10 or 100 times):
Benefits of this dhikr: 1. You stay safe from the temptations of sin. 2. Allah is pleased with you. 3. You are protected from the trials and hardships of the grave.
لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ ٱللَّهُ
লা ইলাহা ইল্লাল্লাহ
আল্লাহ ছাড়া কোনো উপাস্য নেই।
La ilaha illallah
There is no god but Allah.
